After a long 15-16 months I have finally struck a deal for my back pay! In fact I have the check already. It's been a long time coming, but I am greatly relieved that it is over. I will get all my bills paid up in time for my Mom's visit in June. We've got a busy first week planned: a trip to Biloxi to the Hard Rock Casino, an all day crop, and then an overnight trip to Foley, AL so we can attend the Gulf Coast Balloon festival (one of Mom's favorite things) and finally a wedding the same day we come back from the festival. Then we'll just hang out and enjoy one another's and Marcus's company.
I've started back to the very radical diet that I did last year - only 500 calories a day. I'm trying to learn from my mistakes the last time and stay focused this time. I'll keep y'all posted!

Prison
Last night I told Joe I lived in a prison. Lately I feel as if I can do no right around here. When did he become so posessive, stingy and a pain in the ass? He's becoming more and more like his father and I don't know if I can deal with it. I don't ask permission to do things; I am a grown woman. Who does he think he is telling me how I should ask before offerring our home to a guest? I'm the bread winner in this family; I should be able to say what goes!!!
Man, I feel better! :-)

Back to the Normal
Tax season is done so I now have time to resume the "normality" of my life. Just to show how things never change - I'm still attending Weight Watchers and battling the big bulge; still fighting for my back pay - yes, can you believe it?!?! Going on 15 months now! And still working midnights.
Marcus is almost done with kindergarten and is already reading books at the 1st grade level. Joe is still Joe. He's had a health scare and is currently taken prescription meds for high blood pressure (even skinny people have it!). He has cut way back on drinking since they found some liver damage. The good thing is he is young enough that if he'll quit drinking it will repair itself.
We had to put down the youngest of our dogs, Lady. She was having seizures and we felt it was best for her. It was a very sad day.
My Mom is coming for 2 weeks in June; I can hardly wait. She hasn't been here since Christmas 2006. And then courtesy of my Dad, Marcus and I go to NY for 2 weeks at the beginning of August. We'll be staying with him, but will go stay with my Grandmother for the last few days before flying home. Since Joe doesn't have as much time off as me he is coming up after the first week.
That's all I can think of for now - it's great to be back!
